The hot work permit outlines safety requirements for contractors performing hot work such as welding or cutting. A permit is required and includes inspection of the work area, precautions taken, training of personnel, and fire watches. The related federal contract opportunity will be a firm-fixed-price contract awarded between $10-20 million to replace over 1,300 variable air volume boxes, controls and thermostats in the main hospital and community living center of the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center. The solicitation will be issued on October 28, 2021 with responses due December 2, 2021. The opportunity is set aside for service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses.
