April 23, 2018 Solicitation 70Z087BPJT21100 - Replace Piping LGH MOQs Contractor Questions and Answers; Questions 7-8
Q1.Are the MOQ buildings currently grounded through the existing copper water lines? If so, are the buildings to be provided with new grounding to the main water line since the new laterals will be HDPE?
A1. To the best of our knowledge, none of the housing units within the project scope are grounded to the piping. If any of the units are found to have the electrical service grounded to the piping in the course of the work, we will address them on a case by case basis.
Q2. Are the sewer laterals to be replaced to the cleanouts outside the building foundations? If not, please specify a different point of connection at the buildings.
A2. The drawings show sanitary sewer points of connection for each unit outside of the foundation wall, and show where each cleanout needs to be installed. Some existing laterals currently do not have cleanouts where they belong, so there may be no cleanout to demolish at some locations, and there may be an existing cleanout to be demolished that is in a different location than the new replacement cleanout will be. The new cleanouts must be installed where indicated, whether or not there is currently one located there now.
