About this file
This document is a Submittal Form for Single and Dual-metered Traffic Signal Underground Service Pedestals, issued by the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT). The Request for Proposal (RFP) seeks to establish a single contract with a qualified vendor to provide traffic signal underground service pedestals for powering traffic signals, intersection lighting, and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) throughout Utah. The contract will have a 5-year term with no renewal options. Offerors are required to submit engineer drawings, dimensions, bill of materials, schematics, warranty, lead time, and minimum order information in PDF format.
The pedestals must meet specific mandatory requirements, including precise cabinet dimensions (54 inches maximum height, 16-24 inches wide), Buy America provisions, NEMA 3R rainproof standards, and detailed electrical specifications. Electrical requirements include single-phase 120V/240V, 100A service with specific circuit breaker configurations, surge protection, and temperature ratings between -30°F and 130°F. The pedestals must have compartmentalized, padlockable designs with UV-resistant windows, permanent labels, and documentation. Vendors must provide comprehensive technical specifications, including meter socket configurations, photocell details, and compliance with Electric Utility Service Equipment Requirements Committee (EUSERC) standards.
