2. The Contractor shall seal penetration caused by the installation of wire pathways and cabling of the AT&T NextGen WiFi Contractor. The Contractor shall seal all wall penetrations. Rated walls shall be sealed with fire stopping systems. Existing conduit paths between floors/IT rooms will not have the capacity for more cable and new conduit paths will need to be created. Note that tools and materials on the VA campus and buildings can never be left unattended and must be either in use or locked up.

3. The Contractor shall install 48 CAT 6A plenum rated cable runs from APs to nearest IT rooms and terminating in a patch panel. The AP side must have an RJ45 plug so that the VA provided AP can mount and just plug in. The Sheridan VA is planning to soon relocate wiring closets, so additional lengths of Cat 6a cable are in the contract to accommodate this future change.

4. There are 158 pathways at the Sheridan VAMC plus 51 at the CBOC’s and the Water Filtration Plant that the AT&T NexGen WiFi will be installing. The Contractor will install infection dust control barriers, remove ceilings, provide negative air and other work in advance for AT&T NextGen WiFi Contractor according to the Infection Control Risk Assessment ICRAs shown in the matrix of Attachment 1. The AT&T NextGen WiFi Contractor will perform their work during the period of 10/3/22 – 10/28/22. The Contractor will coordinate with AT&T NextGen WiFi Contract Manager and make a schedule to prepare the work areas in advance, so the area is ready for the AT&T NextGen WiFi Contractor to install their cable and pathways. Upon completion of AT&T NextGen WiFi Contractor’s work, then the Contractor will seal all wall and floor/ceiling penetrations, install Fire Stopping systems in fire rated walls, replace ceiling panels, reclip fire rated ceiling panels, paint and patch and other work needed to restore what the AT&T NextGen opened to do their work. Penetrations between floors in all buildings are to have Fire Stopping systems. Walls into Wire Closets are rated walls. Where cabling sags or touches ceiling panels, then the Contractor must install J-hooks to prevent this from happening. Each work area will be cleaned up by the Contractor in accordance with the IRCA requirements as well as remove barricades and equipment from work area. The Contractor shall also use Asbestos methods of construction as per specifications should asbestos be encountered in locations identified in the Sheridan VAMC - 2019 Asbestos Management Operations Plan as containing asbestos. The Sheridan VAMC - 2019 Asbestos Management Operations Plan has been included in the SOW Attachments. Any ceiling tile damaged by the Contractor or AT&T NextGen WiFi Contractor will be replaced by the Contractor. The Ceiling Type and Rated Wall documents have been included in the SOW Attachments.

Recommend Offerors verify field conditions and make necessary measurements to confirm distances in a pre-bid site walk. Scales drawings are in the Ceiling Type documents for Sheridan.

All work will be performed during business hours, Monday thru Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM unless written permission has been granted by the CO for special hours to accommodate Medical Center Operations or the AT&T NextGen WiFi Contractor.

3. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE:

3.1 Work timelines and completion progress shall be communicated to the COR for tracking and coordinating purposes.

3.2 Work described in Section 2 shall be completed by December 30, 22 and can start as soon as the Notice to Proceed is issued. The AT&T NextGen WiFi Contractor is scheduled for Oct 3rd through Oct 28th, 2022. The asbestos abatement, conduit work shall be completed prior to the AP install date.
