1. Installation of 44 conduit paths and 53 Cat 6A cables. This includes all components for a complete functioning system such as hangers, gang boxes for the mounting of Access Point (AP) devices, etc... All conduit ends shall be terminated so there are no rough edges. All Cat 6A cabling shall have plugs installed on both ends so that the VA can just plug into panels and AP’s.
Note that the VA Sheridan has future plans to move wiring closet so additional length of Cat6a cable must be provided in the loops so that there is enough length to accommodate a move into another wiring closet as called out in comments of Attachment #1.
2. Installation of 10 Angle brackets for mounting of the Access AP devices. AP devices shall be provided by the VA, but the horizontal mounting brackets shall be provided and installed by the Contractor. Mounting Brackets shall be installed so that there is no exposed wire showing which may require minor modification of the Mounting Brackets. 2. The Contractor shall seal all wall penetrations. Rated walls shall be sealed with fire stopping systems.
If existing conduit paths between floors/IT closet rooms do not have the capacity for more cables, then the contractor will create new conduit paths as needed. Note that tools and materials on the VA campus, CBOC’s and buildings can never be left unattended and must be either in use or locked up.
3. The Contractor shall install 53 CAT 6A plenum rated cable runs from APs to nearest IT rooms and provide ends for the VA to plug into the patch panel. The AP side must have an RJ45 female plug so that the VA can mount the APs and just plug in. Both ends of the cable must be labeled. The Sheridan VA is planning to soon relocate wiring closets, so additional lengths of Cat 6a cable are in the contract to accommodate this future change.
4. The Contractor will install infection dust control barriers, remove ceilings, provide negative air and other work according to the Infection Control Risk Assessment ICRAs shown in the matrix of
Attachment 1 or in the other ICRA Attachments of this SOW. The Contractor will seal all walls and floor/ceiling penetrations, install Fire Stopping systems in fire rated walls, replace ceiling panels, reclip fire rated ceiling panels, paint and patch and other work as required. Penetrations between floors in all buildings are to have Fire Stopping systems. Cable going through a rated wall or other rated separations will be in conduit or conduit sleeve. Walls into Wire Closets are rated walls. Each work area will be cleaned up by the Contractor in accordance with the IRCA requirements as well as remove barricades and equipment from work area. The Contractor shall also use Asbestos methods of construction as per specifications should asbestos be encountered in locations identified in the Sheridan VAMC - 2019 Asbestos Management Operations Plan as containing asbestos. The Sheridan VAMC - 2019 Asbestos Management Operations Plan has been included in the SOW Attachments. Any ceiling tiles damaged by the Contractor will be replaced by the Contractor. The Ceiling Type and Rated Wall documents have been included in the SOW Attachments.
Recommend Offerors verify field conditions and make necessary measurements to confirm distances and ceiling types in a pre-bid site walk. Scaled drawings are in the Ceiling Type documents for Sheridan.
All work will be performed during business hours, Monday thru Friday, 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM unless written permission has been granted by the CO for special hours to accommodate Medical Center Operations.
