8. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE WOOD BLOCKING AT TOILET
ACCESSORIES, HAND RAILS, BUMPER RAILS, SHELVING,
CASEWORK, MOUNTING BRACKETS AND OTHER WALL
MOUNTED ITEMS, AS INDICATED IN THE CONTRACT
DOCUMENTS AND AS RECOMMENDED BY PRODUCT
MANUFACTURERS. ALL WOOD BLOCKING SHALL BE FIRE
RETARDANT TREATED.
9. ALL EXPOSED NEW WORK IS TO RECEIVE NEW FINISHES
UNLESS SPECIFICALLY NOTED OTHERWISE. IF NO FINISH IS
INDICATED AT A PARTICULAR SURFACE, CONTRACTOR SHALL
PROVIDE FINISH(S) AS INDICATED AT SIMILAR CONDITIONS.
10. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE COMPLETE AND FULLY
OPERATIONAL SYSTEMS WHICH COMPLY WITH STATED CODES
AND REGULATIONS. WHERE THE OMISSION OF A PART OR
ELEMENT OF A SYSTEM WOULD RESULT IN THE
NON-OPERATION, OR INCORRECT OPERATION OF A SYSTEM,
CONTRACTOR SHALL INCLUDE SAID PART OR ELEMENT AS

11. ALL PENETRATIONS THROUGH NEW AND/OR EXISTING SMOKE
OR FIRE RATED WALLS SHALL BE SMOKE/FIRE STOPPED AS
REQUIRED BY THE RATING OF THE WALL.
12. FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR'S SPRINKLER DESIGN WILL
BE SUBJECT TO AN INDEPENDENT REVIEW BY A CERTIFIED
FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER RETAINED BY THE OWNER. THE

3.3.14 Ventilation shall prevent accumulation of significant quantities of vapor-air mixtures in concentractions over one-fourth of lower flammable limit (1/4 of LFL)
5.1 Walls, doors and ceilings that enclose a spray area shall be constructed of noncombustible materials and rigidly fastened. Interior surfaces shall be smooth to prevent pockets that can trap residues, and designed to facilitate ventilation and cleaning.
5.3 Spray booths shall be separated from other operations by a minimum of 3 ft or by a partition, wall or ceiling assembly having a minimum fire resistance rating of 1 hr.
5.3.1 Spray booths shall be installed so that all parts are readily maintained and cleaned.
5.5.1 Panels for lights and observation shall be heat-treated glass, laminated glass, or wired glass and shall be sealed to confine vapors, mists, residues, dust and deposits.
6.6.1 Light fixtures shall be attached to walls and ceilings of spray booth from the outside and separated from spray area by glass panels and serviced from the outside.
7.2 Ventilating and exhaust systems shall be designed and installed per NFPA 91.
7.3 Adequate supply of clean make-up air shall be provided to compensate for the air exhausted from spray operations. The make-up air intake shall be located so that air exhausted from spray operations is not recirculated. The exhaust duct shall not discharge in the direction of any combustible construction that is within 25 ft of the exhaust duct discharge point.
7.4 Air exhausted from spray operations shall be conducted by ducts directly to the outside of the building. The exhaust duct discharge point shall be at least 6 ft from any exterior wall or roof.
7.5.1 Air exhausted from spray booth shall not be recirculated.
8.1 Storage, handling and mixing of flammable and combustible liquids shall be per NFPA 30.

A. Protect existing structure, adjacent windows, doors and other building elements during demolition.
B. Remove all existing partitions shown with dashed line. Provide new finishes as scheduled at all area of removal or repair adjacent wall, ceilings and floor finishes to match adjacent surfaces.

K. Prepare existing floor surface throughout the entire area of demolition and construction for new floor covering. Pour cementitious topping to fill voids, feather all edges to match adjacent floor elevations and correct low areas. Review and coordinate new floor drain locations and any floor slopes prior to slab prep.
L. Computer and communication cables and/or other wiring, piping, tubing, etc. serving other areas and functions located above ceiling or in walls of area to be remodeled shall be maintained during demolition/construction process. Coordinate any required modifications, relocations and shut down times of these systems with the C.O.R.
M. See Plumbing, HVAC and Electrical Drawings for removal work associated with those trades.
N. Sprinklers and water supply to be maintained throughout. See MEP Drawings.
P. Existing power must be maintained throughout as required during each phase of construction. Coordinate power shut-offs with the C.O.R. See Electrical Drawings.
Q. Patch and repair existing slab as required to fill voids in existing floor slab at abandoned mechanical chases, new electrical conduit and all MEP floor penetrations. Provide 2-Hr. fire rated floor construction, or 1 hour rated roof construction.
R. Remove wall-hung accessories and equipment, including TVs and computers, unless noted otherwise and turn over to C.O.R. Repair wall and floor finishes to match adjacent existing or provide new finishes as scheduled.

BASEMENT - DIMENSION PLAN
GENERAL NOTES
A. All dimensions are taken to face of gypsum wallboard or unit masonry.
B. Edge of all door jambs at hinge side not otherwise indicated are to be 6" from the face of intersecting walls.
C. Install fire retardant blocking at all wall mounted equipment, accessories, casework and wall- mounted door stops.
D. All wall types to be M1.1 unless noted otherwise. For partition types refer to Drawing 14A102.
E. Verify all conditions in the field prior to fabrication, erection and construction.
F. Protect existing structure as required during all phases of construction.
G. Coordinate contractor access to all phases of construction, deliveries, and debris removal with the C.O.R. See General Requirements.
H. Provide and maintain negative air pressure in construction area.
Coordinate with HVAC contractor. See HVAC plans for temporary venting requirements.
J. Maintain rating at all existing rated construction. Repair all damage to existing fire walls.
