About this file
This is a Bid Bond document for the Jordan Basin Improvement District's 12600 South Mountain View Corridor Sewer Project in Utah. The project involves installation of approximately 2,620 linear feet of 30-inch sanitary sewer pipeline, 10 sanitary sewer manholes, two guided bores (225 feet and 81 feet in length) with a minimum 42-inch casing crossing under Mountain View Corridor within UDOT right-of-way, and associated landscaping and roadway restoration. Only contractors prequalified for the Multiple Mountain View Corridor Sewer Projects are eligible to bid on this project. The bid bond must be submitted as part of the bidding documents and serves as a guarantee that the successful bidder will enter into the contract in accordance with the bid terms and provide required performance and payment bonds, insurance coverages, and evidence of insurance limits as specified in the Contract Documents.
The bid bond establishes a penal sum representing the amount at which the principal and surety are held jointly and severally liable to the Obligee. If the principal fails to enter into a contract, provide required bonds, or furnish evidence of required insurance coverage, the surety is obligated to pay the difference between the principal's bid amount and the amount for which the Owner contracts with another party to perform the work, up to the penal sum limit. The Principal may also be liable to the Obligee for the full difference between bid amounts regardless of whether such amount exceeds the penal sum. All surety companies must appear on the U.S. Department of the Treasury's current list (Circular 570, as amended) and be authorized to transact business in the State of Utah. The bond requires notarization and signature by the Principal and the Surety's Attorney-in-Fact.
