About this file

Summary

This is a Request for Information (RFI) document issued by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) regarding identification standards for plumbing piping and equipment. The RFI seeks input from industry stakeholders, manufacturers, and professionals on methods and best practices for identifying various types of plumbing piping materials and associated equipment used in building systems. The document does not specify quantities, site visits, or bidders' meetings, as it is an informational solicitation rather than a competitive procurement. The response deadline for submissions is December 24, 2025, and the RFI is intended to inform future regulatory or procurement decisions related to plumbing standards in Rhode Island.

The RFI does not establish pricing terms, set-asides, or contract awards, as it is designed to gather market intelligence and technical information rather than procure goods or services. There is no identified incumbent, specific funding amount, or contract term associated with this solicitation. The initiative appears driven by RIDOH's need to establish clear identification and labeling requirements for plumbing materials to ensure compliance with building codes and support proper installation and maintenance practices. Respondents are encouraged to provide technical specifications, industry standards references, and practical implementation guidance that could inform future state policies or requirements for plumbing system identification.
