About this file

This is a Calendar of Events document for an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by Mesa Community College District (MCCCD) in partnership with SPS+Architects for the construction of a new Veterinary Technology and Sustainable Horticulture building. The project encompasses new building and site development, improvement to an existing service road, and installation of a new sewer line at Mesa Community College's main campus in Arizona. The scope of work excludes direct owner services such as geotechnical reports, materials testing, hazardous materials testing and abatement, and specialized systems including structured cabling, audio-visual systems, and building security systems, though infrastructure for these systems must be included in the base bid. Bid documents were released on May 7, 2026, with a non-mandatory but highly encouraged pre-bid conference scheduled for May 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at the college's Community Room LB-145, followed by site tours. Requests for information and substitution approvals were due by 4:00 p.m. on May 22, 2026, with responses posted on June 4, 2026. Bids were due electronically by 2:00 p.m. on July 16, 2026, with notice of award anticipated on July 20, 2026, and notice to proceed on or about September 11, 2026. The construction contract term is 14 months from Notice to Proceed, with substantial completion targeted for October 15, 2027, and final completion by November 12, 2027.

The document does not contain information regarding pricing terms, set-asides, incumbent contractors, funding sources, or budgetary amounts. All bid documents and submission details were managed through the MCCCD Procurement Portal via Bonfire. Key contacts include Maryam Moradnejad of SPS+Architects (consultant), Denise Orr, Capital Project Manager for MCCCD, and Sergio Ybanez, Associate Vice President of Facilities & Operations at Mesa Community College.
