QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

140P9724R0001 – Lynch/Kennedy Fire Suppression

Q1. Will Cad files be available for the fire protection designer?

A1. No, CAD files do not exist.

2. On the SOW page one:

This project will include Shop drawings, demo/installation, testing, and certification of a new fire suppression and alarm systems. The new fire suppression systems will at a minimum meet the requirements of a NFPA 13D/25 dry-pipe system, International Fire Code, and International Existing Building Code.

Q2a. Is a new fire alarm system part of the SOW?

A2a. No, contractor will tie into the existing fire alarm system, Silent Knight 5820 Addressable. Reprograming WILL be needed. The Park will provide the program file for updating.

Q2b. "NFPA 13D/25 dry-pipe system". Is this supposed to be NFPA 13?

A2b. Yes. Reference should be NFPA 13 for the most protection.

Q3. Are the milestones flexible? Review draft Shop Drawings to NPS 21 June 2024. This is not practical for only 3 weeks after NTP.

A3. Overall, milestones are intended to be kept tight, in order to meet customer occupation needs. However, the "Review of draft Shop Drawings to NPS can be pushed out two additional weeks to 7/5/2024.

Q4. Will the owner remove all items from the building?

A4. The items in the building will be taken care of prior to the contractor arriving. Further, the NPS will be responsible for Demolition and removal of any trim, drywall, wall/ceiling sheathing necessary to expose the existing concealed sprinkler piping. Contractor is responsible for demo and removal of the suppression system from the building currently in place. NPS will then replace wall/ceiling/surface finishes.

Q5. Will 6 days a week ten hours a day be acceptable for this project, due to the aggressive schedule this winter?

A5. NPS can accommodate a 6 days at 10 hours each for a work week.

Q6. Could an onsite visit be arranged prior to the bid date?

A6. Yes, if a vendor wants to see the project site pre-proposal, this can be accommodated. The visit must be coordinated with NPS 48 hours in advance, due to tenants and tourists, so NPS can coordinate access to all locations in the building. Q7. What’s the use/occupancy of this building?

A7. First floor is retail space for artwork, sculptures and jewelry. Second Floor is retail storage space in the main room. The small west room on the second floor is an office space.
