About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding Solicitation 140P2023R0150 to replace the dilapidated visitor center facility at Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument. The National Park Service seeks to install impact resistant drywall at the walls in the exhibit area and at the information desk. For the metal plate wall panels, the manufacturer's standard 1/8-inch thick aluminum material with warranty is acceptable, despite the project plans calling for 12-gauge prefinished rainscreen material. The contracting officer extended the proposal due date to November 14 at 5pm Mountain Time and stated they are unable to grant any further extensions but remaining questions may be submitted until the due date.

Solicitation 140P2023R0150
Amendment 5 Questions and Answers
November 7, 2023
61. We noticed in the specs for the gypsum board that Impact Resistant sheet rock was called out for. However, after reviewing the plans I did not see a note or description that called out where this board might be located. Can you please confirm the location, if any, of where the Impact
Resistant drywall should be installed?
RESPONSE: The impact resistant sheet rock is located at the walls in the exhibit area and at the info desk.
62. Spec Section – 074213.16 – Metal Plate Wall Panels, Section 2.4 calls out material requirements to be provided by the mfr (BOK‐Modern). Material thickness of the panel is to be 12 gauge.
Plan Details: the project plan details for MP1 call out for a 12 ga prefinished rainscreen material.
Issue: BOK‐Modern standard rainscreen product (Enfold Façade) is a 1/8” thick aluminum product. While they (BOK‐Modern) can provide a 12 ga material, they do not offer it in a rainscreen application as this type of panel runs the risk of rusting even when powder coated and cannot be warrantied. BOK‐Modern will only do the aluminum material at the rain screen system. QUESTION TO OWNER/DESIGN TEAM: Is the mfr’s standard aluminum material acceptable for the MP‐1 rainscreen application. If not, how is the manufacturer warranty issue to be addressed?
RESPONSE: The manufacturer’s standard aluminum material of 1/8” thickness with the warranty is acceptable.
63. Contracting Officer’s Statement: Amendment 4 extended the proposal due date to Tuesday, November 14 at 5pm MT. After a careful consideration of several factors, I am unable to extend further beyond this date. If you have further solicitation questions, you may submit them to myself timothy_burger@nps.gov and daryl_hawkins@nps.gov up until proposals are due, however, we cannot guarantee they will be answered in enough time prior to the 14th. Thank you for your understanding on this matter and for your hard work in putting your proposals together.
– Tim Burger, Contracting Officer
