About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document for a timber sale preparation solicitation for the Bureau of Indian Affairs Navajo Region. The document addresses two key questions regarding timber appraisal requirements and proposal submission timeline.
The agency clarifies that while two forms of appraisal methods would be optimal, only one forest product appraisal is required, preferably using residual value analysis. The two acceptable methods are Residual Value Analysis and Transaction Evidence Appraisal. In response to a contractor's request for additional time to prepare pricing information for logistics and seasonal employees (for marking, cruising, and layout), the agency has extended the proposal submission deadline to February 25, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. MST.

Text version
• How would you like the timber appraisal? (TEA, Based Rates, ETC...)
• Two forms of appraisal methods would be best. However, only 1 forest product appraisal is required, preferably utilizing residual value analysis.
• 1) Residual Value Analysis
• 2) Transaction Evidence Appraisal
• Could we get extra time to prepare this information? We may need another week to make sure we can get all our pricing together for logistics, seasonal employees for marking, cruising, layout...
• We have no issue with allowing an additional time for potential contractors to finalize their proposal. The response date will be extended to February 25, 2025, 2:00 p.m. MST.
