About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding a federal contract for building air filter replacement in Phoenix, Arizona. The contract involves replacing air filters in various areas including two walk-in coolers and a moth collection and shipping area. Filters to be replaced include 14x20x1 and 14x25x1 pleated filters. The questions seek clarification on the number and locations of filters to be changed, as well as the replacement schedule for reusable media in the walk-in coolers. The answers explain that the media in the walk-in coolers will be changed on a semi-annual basis due to its durability lasting six months with daily vacuuming, rather than weekly changes.

1. When quoting frames and media for the 3 walk-in coolers, it’s going to change the pleated filter count above drastically. Can I get updated pleated filter numbers once the media in the walk-in coolers has been taken into account?
After changing from the pleated filters to the reusable media in both moth collection and shipping, the quantity of 14x20x1 pleated filters will be reduced by 24. See amendment 0001 for the corrected filter list. The 14x25x1 filter quantity will be reduced by 48.
2. The schedule in the statement of work specifies the frequency of filter change outs for each area, but I would like to know which filters and how many of each are in each area so that I can determine the correct cost of materials and labor.
See the amendment for filter sizes and quantities by location.
3. The price schedule states that “reusable media” is changed semi-annually. Is this referring to the media that goes into the frames in the walk-in coolers? If so, I was under the impression that the media would be changed every two weeks or so.
The reusable media has the durability to last 6 months before getting replaced. The media gets vacuumed twice a day and has been holding up to the added usage. That’s the reason for the semi-annual change outs instead of the weekly. The media and HEPA filters will be on the same change out schedule.
