SECTION 1 INTRODUCTION AND SCHEDULE

1.1 Introduction

A. San Francisco Public Works (“Public Works”), a department of the City and County of San

Francisco (“City”), is issuing this Request for Qualifications (“RFQ” or “Solicitation”) to solicit proposals from qualified consultants and or joint venture (JV) firms (“Proposers”).

Public Works seek professional As-Needed Audio/Visual, Telecom, & Security System Design Services.

The Selected Consultant, including its team of subconsultants, will support the Project Design and Development Division of Public Works. Projects may include a wide range of City-owned facilities, such as civic buildings (office buildings, libraries, cultural centers), public safety facilities (fire and police stations), recreation facilities (recreation centers, clubhouses, pools), healthcare facilities (clinics and acute care interiors), infrastructure projects (pump stations, transportation facilities, EV charging stations), homeless shelters, and correctional facilities.

B. When applicable and practical, Proposers are encouraged to engage contracting teams that reflect the City’s unique businesses and residents, including participation of businesses and residents from the City’s most disadvantaged communities. The City will not consider the race, ethnicity, general sexual orientation, or national origin of the Proposer’s staff, leadership, and/or board of directors when making contracting decisions.

The LBE Subcontracting Participation Requirement for this Contract is 16% and may only be met with San Francisco CMD-certified Small and/or Micro-LBEs. Public Works encourages responses from City & County of San Francisco certified Local Business Enterprises (LBEs). Further information regarding the Contract Monitoring Division (CMD) requirements can be found in Section 4 of this RFQ.
