Controlled access is by proximity card reader activated gate. The size of the spaces shall comply with all local, state, and federal standards. The orientation of the stalls (slanted or horizontal) shall be dependent on the traffic flow design.

iii. Levels: One or more levels of the proposed facility may be subgrade.

iv. Floor-to-Ceiling Clearance: The minimum clearance to all overhead obstructions is 8’-2” to meet ADA requirements. Signage shall indicate the clearances.

v. Reserved Parking: The facility shall accommodate a minimum of twenty-one (21) handicap stalls with four (4) being van accessible. Additional stalls can be located on the exterior of the ramp in new adjacent controlled surface lot location(s).

vi. Access Control: The entrance and exit shall each have a gate, which can be opened with a proximity card and reader through the existing Simplex C-Cure access control system.

vii. Traffic Flow: The traffic flow entering and exiting the parking facility shall make logical sense with the traffic flow. Refer to site plan for main roadway layout.

viii. Signage & Markings: Signage and traffic markings entering, exiting, and inside the parking facility shall be clear and easy-to-read. The signs and markings shall be sufficient to maintain an efficient and safe flow and shall complement existing site signage.

ix. Pedestrian Flow: Clear signage and/or markings shall direct pedestrians to the hospital walkway or different levels of the parking facility. The handicap and patient parking shall be nearest to elevators.

x. Elevators & Stairs: There shall be stair locations throughout the parking facility to access all levels. There shall be a minimum two (2) elevators to access all levels of the facility. The number and size of these elevators shall be determined by the design of the facility. The location of the elevators shall be in close proximity to the connecting corridor. Include emergency notification button in each elevator car, connected to call center operators (similar to existing on-site elevators).

xi. Snow Removal and Drainage: The top deck shall be designed with snow removal in mind. There shall be some type of chute to push the snow into or an alternate method for removal.
