About this opportunity

The Regional Transportation District (RTD) in Denver is requesting bids on five mid-size, diesel-driven riding sweeper-scrubber floor cleaners under IFB 226DK009, with bids due August 31, 2026. An SBE/DBE goal determination is required as part of evaluation.

The scope is replacement of cleaning equipment for RTD's bus depots, parking lots, and warehouses across Denver County. Each unit must feature a modern diesel engine rated at a minimum of 24 horsepower with EPA compliance, a minimum 40-inch cleaning path, dual wet-scrubbing and dry-sweeping capability via single-button operation, a 50-gallon minimum solution tank, 70-gallon minimum recovery tank, 3.9 cubic feet debris hopper with temperature sensor shutdown, 99% efficient panel filtration to 3 microns, stainless steel hardware in vital components, and noise levels not exceeding 82 decibels at the operator's ear over an eight-hour weighted average per ISO 11201. The awardee must provide a 36-month parts warranty, 24-month labor warranty, and 6-month travel factory warranty; maintain factory-direct service support local to Denver; supply operator's manual with training videos and comprehensive parts and service manuals; and conduct on-site factory-direct training following delivery at RTD District Shops, 1940 31st Street, Denver, Colorado 80216. Delivery requires 24-hour advance notice to Mason Neil at 720-383-5340 or Support Fleet Maintenance at 303-299-3301.

The estimated contract value is $450,000 ($90,000 per unit). The contract term is nine months from purchase order execution, with RTD holding a unilateral option to extend up to six additional months. Evaluation is on state bid dealer specification compliance (100% weight) with SBE/DBE goals supplementing cost as the sole award criterion. RTD Board approval is required for contract award. Funding is through local RTD funds; federal funding may supplement future payments. The Procurement Initiation Form references a cooperative piggyback agreement with Western Paper/Imperial Dade, though the formal IFB process is independent.
