About this opportunity

The Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife is requesting sealed bids for the Cherry Creek State Park North Shop Creek Connector Bridge project (IFB1 PMAA 2027000013, Project CC2501T11) with bids due October 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. A non-mandatory pre-bid conference was held September 17, 2026; written questions were due September 24, 2026.

Resident bidder preference under Colorado law (C.R.S. 8-19-104) and a 5 percent bid preference for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses registered with the Center for Veteran Enterprise apply. For this public works project exceeding $500,000, Colorado labor must comprise at least 80 percent of the total workforce; written justification is required if this threshold cannot be met.

The scope encompasses design and construction of a 100-foot by 10-foot steel truss pedestrian bridge spanning Cherry Creek in Aurora (Cherry Creek State Park, Denver County), including site preparation, clearing and grubbing (1.9 acres), drilled shafts (four 24-inch diameter shafts, 192 linear feet total, minimum 8-foot bedrock penetration), concrete work, bridge girder and deck unit fabrication and installation, two crusher fines trails (600 linear feet total, 6 feet wide, 6 inches deep), landscape restoration, erosion control, and removal of five trees. Work must be completed within 200 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, anticipated November 12, 2026, with substantial completion by May 31, 2027. Specifications reference Colorado Department of Transportation Most Current Standard Specifications for Roads and Bridge Construction and incorporate Environmental Product Declaration requirements under the Buy Clean Colorado Act for eligible materials including reinforcing steel, structural steel, concrete, and wood. Buy America Build America compliance is mandated for reinforcing steel and applicable materials.

A five-percent bid bond (certified check or cashier's check acceptable) is required for bids of $150,000 or more. The successful bidder must provide 100 percent performance and labor/material payment bonds. Award is anticipated October 13, 2026, to the lowest responsible bidder. Four addenda have been issued as of October 1, 2026, including revised drawings, bid schedule modifications, and geotechnical investigation results (Appendix J, CTL Thompson).
