About this opportunity
Palm Beach County's Capital Improvements Division is requesting quotes and bids for furnishing and installing a complete shade structure over existing playground equipment at Melissa's Place, 1749 E Main Street, Pahokee, Florida, under IFQ/B P-2024-006308, with bids due August 3, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. and a mandatory pre-bid meeting July 8, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the project site. A minimum mandatory Small Business Enterprise subcontracting goal of 25 percent participation is required.
Contractors must be qualified under the Palm Beach County Annual Contract for Minor Construction Services and must submit a Qualification Application by July 24, 2026 — at least 10 days before the bid due date — for their bid to be eligible. The scope requires all labor, materials, equipment, permits, and supervision to furnish and install the shade structure in accordance with architectural drawings and specifications. The Architect/Engineer of Record is Colome & Associates, Inc.
Contractors must substantially complete all work within 120 calendar days from Notice to Proceed, with liquidated damages of $120 per day for failure to meet this deadline. For bid amounts of $200,000 or more, bid security equal to at least 5 percent of the bid price (as a cashier's check, certified check, money order, or bid bond) and a public construction bond equal to 100 percent of the work order prior to execution are required. Contractors must submit completed OSBD Schedules 1 and 2 documenting all proposed subcontractors and SBE participation and comply with the County's Commercial Nondiscrimination Policy. A 12-month warranty on all equipment, materials, and labor is required from substantial completion, and a Certificate of Occupancy or Certificate of Completion from the appropriate Building official is required prior to final payment. Sealed bids are submitted to the Capital Improvements Division at 2633 Vista Parkway, West Palm Beach, Florida 33411, addressed to Diana Del Rio Cabrera. Confidential building plans and drawings are available by contacting FDO-CID-Bids@pbc.gov or (561) 233-0261.
