About this opportunity
The City of Fort Worth is requesting bids on demolition, removal, and replacement of infrastructure at Pecan Valley Golf Course—including a 150-foot pedestrian bridge, two concrete abutments, concrete sidewalks, trees, and site improvements—under ITB CPN 105401, with bids due September 10, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. CST via the Bonfire Procurement Portal. A 30% small business goal applies to the total bid amount; bidders must meet or exceed this goal through self-performance or certified small-business subcontracting participation. Small businesses must be SBA-defined, physically located within five Fort Worth–area counties (Tarrant, Denton, Wise, Parker, Johnson), and certified by the North Central Texas Regional Certifying Agency, Dallas–Fort Worth Business Council, Women's Business Council–Southwest, or Texas Department of Transportation. Failure to comply renders the bid non-responsive.
The pedestrian bridge scope is the decision-flipping constraint: the bridge manufacturer must be AISC Certified Bridge Fabricator–Advanced (Major) with Fracture Critical and Complex Coating endorsements, employ at least two Certified Weld Inspectors, and have a Texas-licensed professional engineer in responsible charge of design. Contech Engineered Solutions LLC is pre-approved; alternative manufacturers require Engineer of Record approval at least 10 days before bid opening. The bridge is an 8-foot-wide, 150-foot-span half-through truss with reinforced concrete deck, designed for pedestrian loading only (90 psf uniform loading, 30 pounds per lineal foot utility loading), with no field welding permitted and field assembly by bolted connections only.
Demolition includes removal of trees (6"–18" diameter), concrete sidewalks, riprap, existing pedestrian bridge, and two concrete abutments with retaining walls. Construction deliverables span four units: miscellaneous work (staking, SWPPP, temporary roads), demolition, site improvements (280 square yards concrete sidewalk, 16 new 6-inch trees, turf reinforcement matting, guardrails, landscape beds, electric conduit, irrigation), and pedestrian bridge installation with supporting infrastructure.
The construction budget is $850,000, with a 274-day completion timeline from commencement. A pre-bid conference was held August 18, 2026 at Pecan Valley Golf Course Club House. Bidders must submit a 5% bid bond, Small Business Utilization Form with certifications, Conflict of Interest form, and prequalification statement. Addendum 3 was released September 3, 2026, containing responses to 18 questions (final Q&A date August 28) and revised bridge specifications and quantities.
