About this opportunity
Community Renewal Team, Inc. (CRT), a Hartford-based anti-poverty organization, is requesting proposals for daily bread product delivery to its food production facility at 555 Windsor Street, Hartford, Connecticut, with proposals due September 23, 2026 at 9:00 AM. No set-asides or preference programs apply.
The scope covers whole wheat bread products with projected annual volumes: 1,500 Pullman wheat loaves, 100 units of whole wheat dinner rolls (12-pack), 400 units of whole wheat hamburger buns (16-pack), and 600 units of whole wheat hot dog rolls (16-pack). All deliveries must arrive by 6:45 AM daily. The vendor must be willing to service additional CRT locations as needed. Pricing must be submitted using CRT's prescribed Bid Pricing Grid; failure to comply results in disqualification. CRT will not accept price increases throughout the contract term.
The contract term runs October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027, with an option to extend subject to mutual approval. Delivery is FOB Destination. Payment terms are net 30 days from invoice date; separate invoicing is required for different CRT programs.
Vendors must carry Liability Insurance ($1,000,000 each occurrence / $2,000,000 aggregate), Automobile Liability ($1,000,000 each accident), Umbrella Liability ($1,000,000 each occurrence), and Workers Compensation Insurance ($1,000,000 per accident, employee, and disease). New vendors must submit three customer references. Bid prices must remain firm for 90 days following bid opening. Liquidated damages are assessed at $150 per day for delivery delays beyond the specified timeframe.
CRT reserves the right to reject any or all bids, split the award if in its best interest, or negotiate terms. Contact Jeanette Dunbar at 860-560-5161 or dunbarj@crtct.org with inquiries.
