About this opportunity
The City of Minneapolis is requesting bids for truck parts and repairs services for its Public Works Solid Waste Department and other municipal boards and departments, with bids due August 27, 2026 at 11:30 AM CDT and questions due August 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM Central Time.
Bidders must meet mandatory qualifications: maintain at least $250,000 in Freightliner parts inventory; hold Cummins OEM authorized engine repair dealership status; possess five or more years of experience as an authorized Freightliner dealer; operate a complete factory-authorized service facility within 45 miles of Minneapolis with factory-trained personnel; employ at least two Minnesota DOT-certified inspectors or mechanics on staff; and maintain a 3–5 day repair turnaround time. No SUBP goals are established for this contract. The Minneapolis Department of Civil Rights requires all contractors on contracts exceeding $100,000 to maintain an Affirmative Action Plan and comply with prevailing wage and living wage ordinances; contractors are encouraged to provide full and fair opportunities to MBEs and WBEs certified through the Central Certification Program.
The scope includes OEM parts and labor for Freightliner trucks, with pricing required for hourly labor rates (OEM service and repair, field labor, DOT inspections, vehicle pickup and delivery) and fifteen specified truck parts. Bidders must provide one-year minimum warranty on parts and labor, deliver parts within two working days, offer phone estimates, use OEM parts unless pre-approved otherwise, and provide vehicle pickup and delivery within one business day of notification.
The contract is a single award to the overall low, responsive, responsible bidder. The initial term is one year with two optional 12-month extensions, if both parties agree. First-year pricing is firm; subsequent years may escalate by the greater of Consumer Price Index or five percent. Submissions are electronic through the City's eSupplier Portal (Event 0000004255). The City of Minneapolis Terms and Conditions for Construction/Commodities Contracts over $175,000 apply, including insurance, indemnification, equal opportunity and non-discrimination, environmental purchasing, and PFAS compliance under Amara's Law.
