About this opportunity

The Jordan Basin Improvement District is requesting bids on the 13400 South Mountain View Corridor Sewer Project in Salt Lake County, Utah, due November 10, 2026, with bidding restricted to contractors prequalified for the Multiple Mountain View Corridor Sewer Projects — a hard eligibility filter that requires prior qualification review.

The scope encompasses installation of approximately 1,480 linear feet of 15-inch PVC and 99.91 linear feet of 8-inch PVC gravity sanitary sewer pipe; trenchless installation of 36-inch steel casing pipes (0.500 inch thick) with 15-inch carrier pipes beneath State Route 85 and 13400 South; construction of launch, retrieval, and intermediate shafts; installation of four 60-inch-diameter sanitary sewer manholes; connection to and abandonment of existing sewer infrastructure; comprehensive surface restoration including asphalt pavement, curb and gutter, and sidewalk; traffic control within UDOT Region 2 right-of-way; and sanitary sewer bypass pumping. Work is performed within UDOT Region 2 right-of-way in the Riverton and Herriman areas. The contractor must coordinate with Enbridge Gas prior to crossing high-pressure gas lines and is required to install shafts during winter months (November 2 through April 30) when irrigation infrastructure is offline, unless removal and replacement coordination with Riverton City is approved.

Key qualifications include: the tunnel/bore contractor performing casing installation must demonstrate a minimum of 1,500 linear feet of tunnel/bore experience in the past 10 years and completion of four similar projects within the past two years; the project manager must have at least five years of experience managing at least two tunnel/bore pipe installation projects; the project superintendent must have at least 10 years of experience supervising at least three trenchless pipe installation projects. All bidders must submit a current Utah contractor license, two completed similar projects from the past five years, surety company information, OSHA 300 logs for the past two years, and a sworn notarized statement. Bid bonds and performance bonds are required. Construction must commence within ten days of Notice to Proceed and comply with current OSHA requirements and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The bid is valid for 60 days after opening.
