About this opportunity

This Special Notice announces the Department of Veterans Affairs' intent to award a sole source contract for the rental and maintenance of flexible endoscopes. The contract will be for a base period of one year, with four additional one-year ordering periods, and will be awarded to Olympus America Inc.

The Special Notice seeks to continue renting and maintaining an entire suite of flexible endoscopes from Olympus America Inc. on a sole source basis. The endoscopes are already in use at the VA facility, and remaining with Olympus will reduce costs and training needs. Prospective contractors must submit documentation by April 27, 2020 if they believe they can provide the required equipment, services, and authorized repairs. However, as Olympus is the only authorized service provider for the proprietary equipment and incumbent contractor, the Department of Veterans Affairs intends to award this contract solely to Olympus America Inc. without a formal competition.
