About this file

This notice announces the Department of Veterans Affairs' intent to award a sole source contract. The contract will be for a base period of one year, with four additional one-year ordering periods, for the rental and maintenance of an entire suite of flexible endoscopes from Olympus America Inc. The endoscopes include GI, bronchoscopes, and ear, nose and throat scopes. The Olympus equipment is already in use at the VA Southern Nevada Health Care System, and remaining with Olympus will eliminate the need for additional purchases, reduce training requirements, and allow continued use of existing cleaning equipment. Olympus is also the only authorized service provider due to the proprietary nature of the equipment. Prospective contractors must submit documentation by April 27, 2020 if they believe they can successfully provide the required equipment, but no formal solicitation will be issued as this is intended as a sole source award to the incumbent, Olympus America Inc.
