The USDA Forest Service is seeking quotes for fuels management services to thin trees and remove excess surface fuels from approximately 614 acres of mandatory work and 173 acres of optional work within the Valley Creek area by December 31, 2021. A single firm fixed price contract will be awarded to remove trees, snags, and dead surface fuels using chainsaw thinning, piling, and mastication techniques. Quotes will be evaluated based on the offeror's experience, past performance, technical approach, and understanding as described in Attachment 1. The final date for questions is July 1, 2020 and quotes are due by July 8, 2020.
This procurement is set aside only for small businesses and issued using NAICS code 115310 for forestry and logging with a size standard of $20.5 million or less. The optional and mandatory work covers approximately 10.5 miles and must be completed by the end of 2021 at the place of performance in Strawberry Valley, California. A pre-quote site visit will be held on June 18, 2020.

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; Quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued.
The USDA Forest Service is issuing a combined synopsis/solicitation as a request for quote (RFQ). This procurement is being issued as a Total Small Business Set-Aside under solicitation number 129JGP20Q0039. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2020-06. The Government anticipates issuing a single firm fixed price (FFP) contract award. The North American Industrial Classification Standard (NAICS) 115310, Support Activities for Forestry - Fuels Management Services, with a small business size standard of $20.5 million apply to this procurement.
Period of Performance:
This contract will be for a period beginning upon the date of issuance of the Notice to Proceed and ending on December 31, 2021.
