About this opportunity
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Louisville District is soliciting proposals to replace Chiller #1 at the Defense Finance and Accounting Service Building 21 located at the Defense Supply Center Columbus installation in Whitehall, Ohio. The contractor will demolish the existing chiller and install a new unit that is compatible with and can be integrated into the existing chilled water system controls. Proposals are due by December 16, 2020 and will be evaluated based on technical qualifications, past performance, and price. The new chiller must be started up in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions and the project is to be completed within 140 days of award.
This procurement has been set aside entirely for small businesses classified under NAICS code 238220 for plumbing, heating, and air conditioning contractors up to $16.5 million in size. Key details include replacing an existing 620-ton centrifugal chiller by recovering the refrigerant, integrating new valves and the unit into the building automation system, and performing startup and testing to demonstrate it meets the sequence of control. An organized site visit was held on December 1, 2020 to provide additional details to potential offerors.
