About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Materiel Command has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to gather market research on Nuclear Surety Cross Check Analysis (NSCCA), Nuclear Safety Analysis and Technical Evaluation (NSATE), and Independent Verification/Validation (IV&V) services for software associated with the Sentinel Weapon System. Responses are sought from firms capable of providing comprehensive nuclear surety testing, simulation, and evaluation services in accordance with AFMAN 91-119 standards. Prosponders must demonstrate advanced security infrastructure compliant with Special Access Program requirements, including personnel clearances and facility accreditation for handling Top Secret/Restricted Data and controlled unclassified information. The RFI requires submissions of no more than 10 pages, single-spaced in 12-point Times New Roman font, addressing four specific technical and programmatic areas including capability demonstration, security compliance, technical approach for modernized systems, and program management strategy. All responses must be submitted unclassified to contracting officer Cameron Hutzley at cameron.hutzley@us.af.mil by April 8, 2026, at 5:00 PM Mountain Daylight Time, though this RFI does not constitute a solicitation and does not commit the Government to contract action.
This is an unclassified pre-solicitation notice with no set-aside designations applicable. The Government has identified six potential support contractors who may receive copies of responses, including BAE Systems, The MITRE Corporation, The Aerospace Corporation, Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab, Utah State University Space Dynamics Lab, and Carnegie Mellon University. No specific award value or budget range has been disclosed in this market research phase. Eligible respondents must be classified under NAICS code 541330 (Engineering Services) and must provide their business size category designation. Respondents may require identified contractors to execute Non-Disclosure Agreements or waive such requirements in writing. The RFI serves as preliminary market research to inform the Government's evaluation of available options and does not establish timeline or procurement value for any subsequent formal solicitation.
