About this opportunity
The Department of the Air Force Reserve Command has issued a Special Notice regarding a sole source contract opportunity for Westover Air Reserve Base (ARB). The notice indicates the intent to award a single source, firm fixed price contract to Advantor Systems for the uninstall and reinstall of their Intrusion Detection System (IDS) workstations and servers. Specifically, the project involves relocating the Emergency Communications Center (ECC) from Building 7073 (Hangar 5) to Building 3400 for the 439th Security Forces Squadron. The total estimated contract value is $88,081.18. The procurement is being conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, which allows for a sole source justification based on the proprietary nature of the Advantor IDS system.
The Special Notice provides specific instructions for potential contractors interested in challenging the sole source determination. Any challenges must be submitted in writing to alex.arnold.4@us.af.mil by June 13, 2025. Challengers must provide sufficient information to demonstrate that an equivalent service or product exists that could meet the government's requirements. The contracting agency retains full discretion in determining whether to compete the requirement based on submitted challenges. The opportunity falls under the NAICS category 561621 for Security Systems Services and PSC category 6340 for Aircraft Alarm and Signal Systems. Contractors should note that this is not a formal request for proposals, but rather a notice of intent to award a contract directly to Advantor Systems based on previous competitive standardization of their IDS system.
