About this opportunity

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) Clinical Center has issued a Special Notice of Intent to Sole Source a fixed price purchase order to Cardinal Health, Inc. for Floxuridine Vials used in patient care. The notice, posted on January 17, 2025, with a response deadline of March 5, 2025, outlines the agency's intention to award a contract directly to Cardinal Health. The procurement will be conducted under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 - Simplified Acquisition Procedures, which allows for single-source procurement when only one source is reasonably available. Cardinal Health is identified as the sole distributor of this specific medication in the United States, justifying the direct award approach.

The primary objective of this Special Notice is to inform potential contractors about NIH's intent to award a sole source contract for Floxuridine Vials, with a specific quantity of 10 units. Interested parties have the opportunity to demonstrate their interest and capabilities in response to the notice by submitting comments to Kristin Nagashima, Contract Specialist, via email to Kristin.nagashima@nih.gov by February 10th, 2025 at 4pm EST. The government retains sole discretion in determining whether to compete the requirement based on responses received. The contract will be awarded using FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures, which exempts the procurement from standard competition requirements. Contractors should note that while they may express interest, the ultimate decision rests with the NIH Clinical Center's contracting team, and no solicitation document will be issued as part of this notice.
