About this opportunity
This notice announces a planned sole source award for chromatin immunoprecipitation sequencing (ChIP-seq) services. The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences seeks FactorPath and HistonePath ChIP-seq, as well as input sequencing, to characterize epigenetic profiles of patient-derived dermal fibroblasts and determine how ancestry, sex, and age impact reprogramming efficiency for induced pluripotent stem cell generation. Interested parties may submit capability statements by August 30th for consideration, and if none are received, the award will be made solely to Active Motif.
No set-aside will be used. The applicable NAICS code is 621511 for medical laboratories with a size standard of $36.5 million. The notice identifies three line items totaling 165 samples for ChIP-seq and input sequencing services from Active Motif. The period of performance is from September 28, 2022 through September 27, 2023.
Notice text
The Chromatin and Gene Expression Group at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences is conducting research into the contributions of genetic and epigenetic diversity in the generation of induced pluripotent stem cells (IPSCs) from patient-derived dermal fibroblasts (DFs). The process of generating IPSCs from DFs is referred to as “reprogramming.” Reprogramming is a critical part of the expanding fields of precision and patient-specific medicine. Using our established cohort of DFs, we have identified key factors that contribute to the efficiency of the reprogramming process and result in disparity between individuals. However, the underlying genetic and epigenetic differences responsible for this disparity between individuals remains unclear. We require chromatin immunoprecipitation with sequencing (ChIP-seq) services to characterize the epigenetic profiles of our cohort of DFs. Our goal is to utilize these ChIP-seq services to determine how ancestry-, sex-, and age-related epigenetic differences contribute to differences in reprogramming efficiency.
The applicable North American industry Classification System (NAICS) Code for this procurement is 621511 “Medical Laboratories.” Its associated Business Size Standard is $36.5M.
