About this opportunity
NASA's National Space Science Center is conducting a sole-source procurement for ARGOS Camera Development with a capability statement deadline of September 28, 2026 at 7:00 a.m. Central Standard Time, though the Government reserves final discretion to compete the requirement. NASA intends to award to Sensors Unlimited Inc under FAR 12.102(a) for development of a camera design for the Aerosol Radiometer for Global Observation of the Stratosphere instrument on the STRIVE mission. The 12-month Statement of Work requires design of electrical, thermal, mechanical, and flight software interfaces documented in an Interface Control Document, with deliverables including a non-flight frame mechanical mockup, a Preliminary Interface Control Document at 3 months post-award, and a Final Interface Control Document at 6 months post-award, plus 4 hours per week of engineering support for months 6–12. The camera must conform to a Sensors Unlimited 1280JSX Enclosed Camera form factor or equivalent, operate within +20°C to +30°C, support 1–256 frame co-addition accumulation, provide LVDS serial output, accept +8 to +16 VDC power input, feature sub-windowing for up to 10 rectangular windows, maintain TEC thermal stability within 1°C, achieve a three-year operational lifetime, and survive less than 18 krad radiation with 100 mils aluminum shielding. Performance occurs at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center. Interested vendors must submit written capability statements referencing the Notice ID to Shanna L. Patterson (Shanna.L.Patterson@nasa.gov); oral communications and quotes are not acceptable. The Government will evaluate submissions to determine whether to proceed competitively, but the final determination remains at its sole discretion.
