1 PURPOSE
The Contractor shall develop a camera design concept and define electrical, thermal, mechanical, and flight software interfaces in an Interface Control Document that will meet the requirements for the Aerosol Radiometer for Global Observation of the Stratosphere (ARGOS) instrument on the Stratosphere Troposphere Response using Infrared Vertically-resolved light Explorer (STRIVE) mission. The electrical interface shall utilize a LVDS for output, serial input, and timing. The Contractor shall produce an example telemetry packet and co-added frame packet.
2 ARGOS CAMERA SPECIFICATIONS
• Mechanical Form Factor: Utilize the Sensors Unlimited standard 1280JSX Enclosed
Camera form factor or equivalent.
• Thermal Requirements: Temperature of the mechanical interface is expected to be held within the range of +20 °C to +30 °C by the Next Higher Assembly during operation.
• Thermal Coating: Outside of camera body to be Black Anodized Aluminum.
• Contamination Considerations: Camera will be fabricated and assembled to remove these sources of outgassing.
• PCBAs Quality Control: PCBAs to be assembled using standard RoHS compliant process.
• Video and Command & Control: 3M 12226-1150-00FR, or equivalent o Trigger and Sync: 3M 12214-1150-00FR, or equivalent o Power: Hirose HR10-7R-6PA (73), or equivalent
• Co-addition acquisition algorithm to be defined as:
o Frame buffer to be established to accumulate N frames of pixel data into a single buffer;
o N is between 1 and 256, inclusive;
o Output pixel value = sum of accumulated pixel data ÷ N;
o 16 Most Significant Bits of pixel data are output from the camera.
• Sub-windowing to be defined as:
o Up to 10 sub-windows are read out for each co-addition acquisition routine;
Col_start, Col_end, Row_start, Row_end o Resulting readout time is error checked to ensure that all data can be read out within each co-addition acquisition period;
o Video Stream to be defined by SUI in future communications;
o Data transfers must be possible while new co-addition frames are acquired (i.e., integrate-while-read).
• Trigger Signal is defined as the start time of co-addition acquisition.
• ROIC exposure and readout timing is automatically generated with the Camera.
• Video data is automatically streamed out of the camera once N frames have been acquired and co-added.
• Power voltage input range is +8 VDC to +16 VDC.
• Max and Average Power
• Trigger and Sync signals are nominally +3.3V TTL.
• Output video is proprietary LVDS serial stream, including data format, max and average rate
• Command & Control is at LVDS signal levels

• Command & Control packet format.
• Pixel pitch is 12.5um.
• TEC thermal stability is defined as locked within +/- 1 °C
• There is no remote on/off signal to this camera. Hard resets may be achieved through external power cycle.
• External monitoring of TEC voltage is not present.
• Included TRR/PDR/CDR/PSR review milestones.
• Meet a three-year lifetime
• Survive radiation environment consisting of a total dose of <18 krad with 100 mils of aluminum shielding
• Have the ability to co-add pixels and window certain sections of the detector so that it minimizes downlink
