About this opportunity
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Network Contracting Office 19 is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for a computerized automated unit dose pill packaging system for the Rocky Mountain Regional VA Medical Center in Aurora, Colorado. This Sources Sought Notice, issued on March 6, 2026, seeks to determine supplier capability, manufacturer socioeconomic size classifications, and overall market interest in providing the equipment. Key requirements include that the contractor must be an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) authorized dealer, distributor, or reseller providing new equipment with the latest technology, and the system must support single- and multi-dose pouch packaging at minimum 50 unit-dose and 40 multi-dose pouches per minute with comprehensive features including RFID technology, biometric login, BCMA-compatible barcodes, and full integration with the VA's VISTA pharmacy information system and incoming Cerner patient health records. Interested vendors must submit responses to Noaa.Lanotte@va.gov by 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time on Friday, March 13, 2026, providing company information, point of contact details, SAM.gov UEI, GSA/FSS Schedule or VA Contract status, and Made in the USA confirmation along with relevant specifications and past experience documentation. This notice is strictly for information and planning purposes only; no award will be made based on responses submitted, and the Government will not pay respondents for costs incurred in developing information.
This procurement carries no set-aside designation for small businesses or other protected groups, though the notice requests interested firms to identify their eligibility for small business programs including HUBZone, 8(a), Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business, Women-Owned, and Veteran-Owned designations. No incumbent contractor information is disclosed in this market research notice, and no specific award value or budget range is provided. The procurement includes one unit dose packager system with a minimum of 400 canisters, supplemental packaging equipment, tray system, calibration system, software interfaces, de-installation of the existing Omnicell system, full installation services, clinical and technical training, and a 12-month warranty with support agreement. The successful contractor must deliver the complete system and services within 180 days of contract award, with all installation, configuration, training, first-year software licensing, travel, materials, and labor included in the contract price. The anticipated NAICS code is 339112 (Surgical and Medical Instrument Manufacturing), with the Product Service Code classified as 6515 (Medical and Surgical Instruments, Equipment, and Supplies).
