FULL TEXT RFIS AND RESPONSES

1. Will there be special considerations need to be taken into consideration due to the kids? We do not know if there are illness, or health issues that they may or may not have. We just want to make sure that if there are extenuating circumstances that when construction is going on that we cover all bases when it comes to safety for both your employees and the kids that are at that facility.

Answer to 1 (COR). I am not aware of a special needs of this sort. Basically, try to work as transparent as can be so to not disturb the kids or the mission of the CDC/Chapel.

2. Can you provide a utility site plan depicting fire hydrants and underground sprinkler mains around building 1776?

Answer to 2 (COR). Can provide As‐Built package in PDF format.

3. The fire sprinkler system was installed in the Chapel office area in 2011. Can you provide the As‐builts fire sprinkler drawings and calculations?

Answer to 3 (COR). See Answer 2 and Answer 42.

4. The sprinkler pipe in the chapel will be exposed. Do you have any requirements for painting?

Answer to 4 (S. Custer). Contractor shall paint the sprinkler pipe to an aesthetically pleasing color to match surroundings (not required to be painted RED).

5. Confirm we will be using Amber Strobes and fire strobes rather than alert strobes and message sign?

Answer to 5 (S. Custer). Yes, Amber Strobes marked ALERT for MNS and Clear Strobes marked FIRE for fire alarm (No Signage).

6. Please confirm the hours we will be working.

Answer to 6 (COR). Typically 6:30PM to 5:30AM.

7. Can we have the chapel for multiple days in a row? Since we will require scaffolding and it would be difficult to stage work and remove scaffold with only (12) hour window.

Answer to 7 (COR). Yes. Contractor will notify and work with Chaplain as required. Chaplain/BPOC will provide typical weekly schedule.

8. The breezeway between the buildings can be protected by wet fire sprinkler provided heater can maintain 40oF.

Answer to 9 (COR). Government will provide electronic scaled drawings.

Answer to 10 (COR). USAG‐DPW is not aware of any special conditions at this time. Main idea is that the Contractor work as transparently as possible so not to impact the mission of the building(s).

Answer to 11 (COR). All false ceilings in areas disturbed. All new tiles acoustical type.

Answer to 34 (COR). New acoustical tile ceiling is required throughout all areas to be disturbed.
