For Component: Titanium dioxide (Rutile) Not expected to be harmful if swallowed.
For Component: Zinc Oxide Not expected to be harmful if swallowed.
For Component: Crystalline Quartz Silica Not expected to be harmful if swallowed.
General Effects of Exposure Acute Effects of Exposure For Component: Crystalline Quartz Silica Exposure to Silica, Quartz can cause a very serious lung disease called Silicosis with cough, shortness of breath, and changes in chest x-ray. The earliest symptoms of silicosis may include: Shortness of breath, Page: 3 of 10 Report Version: 1.9 coughing, wheezing, fatigue, chest pain, loss of appetite and fever.
Chronic Effects of Exposure For Component: Crystalline Quartz Silica Excessive exposure to airborne crystalline silica can cause fibrotic lung damage, with scarring of the lungs with cough and shortness of breath. This is called "Silicosis". This is generally a slowly developing fibrotic disease as symptoms are usually delayed for 10 years or more. Symptoms are dyspnea, chest pain, breathlessness, and cough. The chronic lung scarring developed from the silica dust causes a progressive massive fibrosis. This may lead to increased susceptibility to tuberculosis.

~~~~ SECTION 3 ~~~~ HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION ~~~~
Eyes:
May result in irritation.
Skin:
Liquid material in contact with the skin may c ause irritation
Ingestion:
May cause abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting.
Inhalation:
It is possible to breathe this material under certain conditions of handling and use (for example, d uring heating, spraying, or stirring). Breathing small amoun ts of this material during normal handling is not likely to cause harmful effects.
Breathing large amounts may be harmful.Symptom s usually occur at air concentrations higher than the recommended exp osure limits.
Symptoms indicating over exposure include, but are not limited to, headache, nausea and irritation of the nose, t hroat and lungs.
~~~~ SECTION 4 ~~~~ FIRST AID MEASURES ~~~~
Eyes:
Immediately flush with copious amounts of wat er for at least 15 minutes. If redness, itching, or a bu rning sensation persist consult a physician or ophthalmologist immedia tely
Skin:
Remove from skin and wash thoroughly with soap and water or waterless cleanser. Get medical attention if i rritation or other ill effects develop or persist.
Ingestion:
Do no induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Treat for shock. If uncons cious and vomiting, turn the person on their side to avoid choking
Inhalation:
Remove to fresh air. Get medical attention if ill effects persist
Note to Physician:
Treat according to person's condition and spec ifics of exposure
~~~~ SECTION 5 ~~~~ FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES ~~~~
Flammable Properties Flash Point: 440F/226.7C Lower Flammable Limits: N/A Upper Flammable Limit: N/A Auto Ignition Temperature:
Not determined Extinguishing Media:
Use extinguishing media appropriate for surrou nding fire Special Fire Fighting Procedures:
As in any fire, NIOSH approved (SCBA)self-cont ained breathing apparatus and protective clothing sh ould be worn.
Respiratory and eye protection required for fi re fighting personnel.
Full protective equipment should be used for a ll indoor fires and any significant outdoor fires. For small outdoor f ires, use of an SCBA may not be required.
Determine the need to evacuate or isolate the area according to your local emergency plan. Use water spray to keep fire exposed containers cool
~~~~ SECTION 6 ~~~~ ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES ~ ~~~
Small Spill:
Determine whether to evacuate or isolate the a rea according to your local emergency plan. Dike and absorb with inert material such as sand.
Large Spill:
Remove all liquid with the use of a vacuum sys tem. If unable to remove as a liquid, then begin to absorb wi th sand, saw dust or commercial absorbent, and scoop up and place i n containers for proper disposal.
~~~~ SECTION 7 ~~~~ HANDLING AND STORAGE ~~~~
Handling & Storage:
Use with adequate ventilation. Provide ventila tion during use to control exposure within Section 8 guide lines. If TLV's are exceeded use appropriate respiratory protectio n. Avoid eye contact.
Avoid skin contact. Do not breathe vapor. Keep container closed. Do not take internally.
Other Precautions:
Always obey hazard warnings and handle empty c ontainers as if they contained material. Follow all MSDS/la bel precautions even after container is emptied because it may reta in product residues.
Avoid prolonged or repeated breathing of vapor or spray mist. Use only in a well ventilated area. Keep out of th e reach of children.
Wash thoroughly after handling.
~~~~ SECTION 8 ~~~~ EXPOSURE CONTROLS/PERSONAL PR OTECTION ~~~~
Engineering Controls:
General and local exhaust ventilation is recom mended to maintain vapor exposures below recommended lim its. Where concentrations are above recommended limits as determined by air sampling or are unknown, appropriate respirato ry protection should be worn. Follow OSHA Respirator Regulations (29 C FR 1910.134) and use
NIOSH/MSHA
approved respirators.
In outside mixing and application operations, situate workers upwind of operation & provide airflow in a downwind d irection so as to carry fumes and residual spray away from workers. If there is a lack of air movement monitor for maximum exposure limits a s indicated in section 2 and if exceeded don appropriate Respiratory Equipment.
Respiratory Protection:
None required if area is adequately ventilated . Where overspray is present, if concentration of prod uct is not known or is above the exposure guidelines use NIOSH approv ed air-purifying respirator equipped with an ammonia/methylamin e cartridge(s). Follow OSHA regulation 29 CFR 1910.134 for respirator use.
Skin Protection:
Chemical protective gloves are recommended.
Eye Protection:
Safety glasses with side-shields Eye protecti on worn must be compatible with respiratory protection syst em employed.
