W912TF-19-Q-5024 – Building 247 Furniture RFIs

September 13, 2019

Q: What is the deadline?

A: 90 days preferred ADC

Q: Will the vendors be required to hook up electrical?

A: It is the intent of the ANG not to require vendors to hook up the electrical.

Q: Can new carpet be moved during install?

A: The carpet is tile so, it can be moved but must be put back in its original state after completion.

Q: Can some of the rooms be used as a staging area?

A: Yes, as long as the area is available at the predetermined time of delivery and the contractor assumes full responsibility for any damage to the area.

Q: Can expedited entry happen?

A: Yes, as long as we receive all information from workers within 72 hours prior to start time. Vehicles and personnel are still subject to searches.

Q: Can roll off dumpsters be stored onsite?

A: Yes, as long as the ANG is notified ahead of time.

Q: Can the furniture be shipped direct to the building?

A: Yes, as long as notification is made prior to the delivery with dates and times.

Q: The solicitation says that the specified products are for design purposes, hence substitutions being accepted, but I'm curious of how the function specified affects things. For instance, the list of specs for the workstations are just the specs that correspond with what Kimball sells, but are they all necessary?

A: If we have something in the spec, it is because we want it as part of the furniture function and level of quality. Therefore, if the substitution can provide the function AND the quality AND aesthetic of what we are looking for it would be acceptable. Otherwise, it should be rejected.

2. Power options include: 10-wire shared neutral: 6 hot, 2 neutral, 2 ground and 10-wire independent neutral: 4 hot (2 and 2), 4 neutral, 2 ground Note: Independent and shared neutral components cannot be mixed. (TBD) The manufacturer in question was just telling me that I believe their power is 8-wire, and I have no idea if that makes a difference to you guys or is just a flow-over of Kimball's specs.

A: As long as [the manufacturer] can provide the power and data necessary for each workstation this would be acceptable.

3. Everything else (tackable panels, for instance)...is that Kimball's specs or the function needs (I have one manufacturer who doesn't do tackable so that came up as well, but I don't want to eliminate these manufacturers from the best price that comes back if their product could still be used).

A: This is a functional need and the panels should be tackable
