NOTICE OF PROPOSED TASK ORDER

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL

Amendment 05

DATE: 22 May 2023

PROJECT TITLE & NUMBER:Corrosion Control
PN: QJKL149550

1. This amendment is being issued to answer questions.

Do we have cut sheets or a list of connections for the GFCI equipment? As the mechanical contractor what would we be responsible for? Are these pre-assembled skids or is additional set up involved?

Repsonse: The Government Furnished Contractor Installed units are to be assembled by supplier not the contractor but will be limited to non-union labor. Installation of the equipment to supporting utilities such as duct work, electrical, gas, etc. are within contractor’s scope.

Would 1" or 1 1/2" pre-molded fiberglass jacketed pipe insulation be an acceptable alternative for the rainwater pipe insulation as we have used on other projects on this Base? In my opinion, cellular glass and Polyiso are not very good choices for rainwater insulation. Using 1/2" closed cell may not provide enough insulation on larger pipes.

Response: Follow specs and if a no cost change, can bring up during the submittal process.

Please specify what type of piping material is to be used for the compressed air piping as the Specifications do not call out what kind of piping material to use.

Response: Section 20 05 13, par. 3.08 Pipe schedule Compressed air ASTM B88 Hard-Drawn Copper (ACU1) or ASTM A53 Gr. B Steel (ACS6). Where multiple Pipe Class Specifications are specified, selection of material is at Contractor’s option.

2. With this amendment the closing date will not be extended:

3. This amendment must be acknowledged when submitting your proposal.
