SELFRIDGE BASE REPAIR MULTIPLE HVAC

RFI’S

1. Is the above project SALES TAX EXEMPT on equipment and material being used?

Please refer to the solicitation FAR Clause 52.229-3. All applicable taxes shall be included in the pricing for this contract. The Government itself is exempt from payment of taxes under this Clause, but contractors are not exempt from payment of taxes for supplies or services under a government contract. Under 26 U.S.C. 5000C, a foreign individual/entity who has a contract with the federal government has an additional tax of 2%. How this tax on a foreign company or owner is collected would have to be asked of the Agency responsible for tax law.

2. Does the project includes TEMP HVAC?

YES: Only temporary heat would be required to keep the building warm if the contractor takes down the systems in cold weather. This is a normal part of every contract to include temporary heat if required by the contractor. They will be in possession of the building and responsible to maintain heat.

There is no need or provision to provide temporary AC or ventilation.

3. Does the project requires COORDINATION DRAWINGS for the HVAC Installations?

YES: The contractor will provide coordination meetings for phasing in the various buildings and some of these coordination meeting may require the contractor to generate drawings and sketches to show coordination items , such as crane locations in relationships to the building and egress etc. Or demo and install locations with timing to coordinate with the building occupants.
