About this file

This document contains requirements for conducting a dynamic road acceptance test of an Explosive Hazard Pre-detonation Roller System. The test must cover at least 1020 feet of improved surface road and 300 feet of gravel surface at speeds between 5-10 mph over gravel and 10-20 mph over improved surface. Blades should only be deployed over the gravel surface for two passes of 300 feet each to verify functioning. All roller functions and the hydraulic system must be verified after testing.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the Army Contracting Command - Warren to issue an Indefinite-Delivery Indefinite-Quantity contract for the Explosive Hazard Pre-detonation Roller program. The five-year firm-fixed-price contract anticipates procuring a minimum of 40 production units and a maximum of 370, as well as first article test assets and support parts. The contractor will build the roller system to a Government Level III Technical Data Package, which is export controlled.

Appendix – D : Dynamic Road Acceptance Test Requirements for Explosive Hazard Pre-detonation Roller

Road test distance should be at least 1020 ft. over improved surface road and 300 ft. over gravel surface. BLADES SHOULD ONLY BE DEPLOYED OVER GRAVEL SURFACE.

Travel speed shall be between 5 and 10 miles per hour over gravel surface.

Blades shall be deployed while traversing the gravel surface.

The gravel portion of the Dynamic road acceptance test should consist of two passes, at 300 ft each, over gravel surface, ensuring blades are deployed.

Verify the blades function properly (fully extend and retract) after the gravel portion of the Dynamic road acceptance test.

Travel speed is between 10 and 20 miles per hour over improved surface.

During the Dynamic Road Acceptance Test ensure both wheel banks / casters swivel and do not contact while performing transitions from forward to reverse and reverse to forward motion.

DO NOT TRANSITION FROM FORWARD TO REVERSE OR REVERSE TO FORWARD MOTION WITH

BLADES DEPLOYED, DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT WILL RESULT.

Verify there are no leaks from hydraulic system after both the improved and gravel portions of the Dynamic road acceptance test.

Verify all EHP Roller functions:

- Mount/Dismount Roller

- Left/Right Offset

- Forward/Aft Standoff

- Activate/Deactivate Downpressure

- Engage/Disengage WNS

- Activate/Deactivate all lights
