SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE (SF 30)

The following have been added by full text:

SOLICITATION AMENDMENT 0002

The purpose of this Solicitation Amendment 0002 is to:

1. Answer the following contractor questions.

Q4. What material shall be used for patching of roadways that are open cut? Asphalt on concrete?

A4. The same as the exiting surface finishing.

Q5. Is the feed for the new switchgear in room 122 to enter through the bottom of the switchgear (below concrete)?

A5. Yes

Q6. Is it permissible to use feeder duct from the switchgear out 65 feet to the first 90 degree fitting? This will take less space exiting the room and the switchgear.

A6. The contractor is permissible to provide feeder duct till hit the 90 degree fitting at the Low Bay North 126.

Q7. Does the standard Arsenal Specifications for Distribution Transformers apply (copper wiring, 65 degree rise, 2 ½% taps, live front, arrestors, no integral fusing, rubberized sealing compound, food grade oil, magnetic level gauge, dial thermometer, pressure relief valve, drain, etc.)

A 7. The new transformer shall be thoroughly clean, phosphatize and finish all the metal surfaces at the factory with a rust-resistant primer and dark green enamel finish coat. All surfaces of the unit to be in contact with the concrete pad shall be treated with corrosion-resistant compounds and epoxy resin, or a rubberized sealing compound.

Q8. For the conduit (note #) from the transformer to the new generator calls for 20% spare conduits. Does the government want 1 on 2 spare – 4 inch conduits?

A8. There is no generator on this project. The 20% is the number of extra conduits for example if the connection between the transformer and switchgear is required 10 of 4” conduits in this case the contractor shall provide 12 conduits of 4” conduits the additional 2 conduits are spare conduits.

Q9. Does schedule 80 PVC conduit need to be used in concrete encased banks under roadways or is schedule

40 required?

A9. Schedule 80PVC shall be required for the ductbank under the roadway.

Q10. When crossing existing duct banks (not shown on plans) will new duct banks be able to be installed over the tops of the existing duct banks?

A10. The new ductbank shall be built underneath the existing ductbank, 18” minimum below the finished surface.

Q11. Is equipment required to meet any “Buy American” acts or clauses?

A11. Yes, please see FAR clauses 52.225-9 on page 21of the solicitation and 52.225-10 on page 23 of the solicitation.

Q12. Does the existing transformer pad (notes last) need to be replaced in total? Due to the amount of work required to add 6-8 new conduits, grounding and duct bank there will be very little of the pad undistributed.

W52P1J18R5015

Pad is questionable due to new 2000KVA size. MidAmerican Energy (MAE) uses a 10’x8’8 pad for this size transformer. Existing pad is 8’x7’.

A12. The contractor can extend the existing concrete pad to be met with the MAE.

Q13. Can you provide RIA specs for the switchboard, panel boards and busway?

A13. There is 480V power distribution board breaker type on this project but no panelboard. The specification for the new transformer as shown on item 7 above, the spec of the 480V distribution board as shown on newly added Appendix E, Interior Distribution System Specifications.

Q14. Can you provide specs for the pad mount transformer, switchboard and bus duct?

A14. Yes, please see revised Appendix A, Design Drawings dated 09 Aug 2018 and newly added Appendix E, Interior Distribution System Specifications.

Q15. Several suppliers have indicated that the bus ducts will take 26-28 weeks to receive therefore not allowing to meet the 180 day completion timeframe. Can you address this issue?

A15. Yes, please see the revised Attachment 1 SOW dated 09 Aug 2018.

2. Replace Attachment 1 SOW dated 27 Jun 2018 with revised Attachment 1 Scope of Work dated 09 Aug

2018.

3. Replace Appendix A – Design Drawings with revised drawings dated 9 Aug 2018.

4. Add Appendix E – Interior Distribution system Specifications.

5. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.

SECTION 00 10 00 - SOLICITATION
