SUMMARY OF CHANGES

SECTION SF 30 - BLOCK 14 CONTINUATION PAGE (SF 30)

The following have been added by full text:

AMENDMENT 1

The purpose of this amendment is to:

1) Provide answers to the following contractor questions:

Q1. Section 07530, 2.01, E specifies “R21 average over the roof. Minimum 3” material thickness”. R21 at the structurally sloped roof area is two layers of 1.9” polyisocyanurate or 3.8” insulation. If we install ¼” tapered 14’6” from the edge to where the structural slope begins it would require a 4” thickness on the structural slope but you would only have 1.75” at the drain. If the 3” minimum thickness at the drains takes precedence you would need 5.3” at the structural slope. Which takes precedence?

A1. There is no material value that necessarily takes precedence over another material value. All minimum values for materials (slope, R-value, thickness, fire rating, warranty, etc.) as noted in the Scope of Work and specifications are applicable. The Contractor shall provide, per the Scope of work, the minimum 3" thickness for ISO board and the 1/2" class A one hour rated roof boards to cover the entire roof and this coverage applies to roof drain areas also (See Scope of Work Section: 1.1.6, 1.1.7, 1.3.1, & 1.4.2.1). The Contractor is responsible for working with their prospective roofing manufacturer to provide a system that meets all the performance requirements.

Q2. On the base bid 3” minimum tapered at the drain is an average R50. Does the minimum thickness take precedence over the R21?

A2. The minimum ISO board thickness does not necessarily take precedence over the minimum average R-value.

The Contractor should work with their roofing provider to determine what other materials may be used in lieu of ISO board to build the applicable slope and provide the minimum average R-value. To reiterate, all minimum values for materials (slope, R-value, thickness, fire rating, warranty, etc.) as noted in the Scope of Work and specifications are applicable. The Contractor shall provide, per the Scope of work, the minimum 3" thickness for ISO board and the 1/2" class A one hour rated roof boards to cover the entire roof and this coverage applies to roof drain areas also(See Scope of Work Section: 1.1.6, 1.1.7, 1.3.1, & 1.4.2.1). The Contractor is responsible for working with their prospective roofing manufacturer to provide a system that meets all the performance requirements.

Q3. I cannot read the drawings clearly; what gauge and type of metal should the sheet metal flashings be fabricated in.

A3. Please see the following revised documents:

Attachment1ScopeOfWorkPR#2016-2293 Rev 20 June 2016 Appendix D. 07530-ELASTOMERIC ROOFING (EPDM) Rev 20 June 2016

2) All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
