About this file
This document contains responses to a request for information (RFI) regarding a project to demolish and construct a loading dock platform. The RFI responses clarify project details such as the requirement to provide a concrete ramp with manual adjustment but no dock leveler. Dock bumpers of an unspecified type will be required, two for each level. The existing ramp is one foot thick concrete with #5 rebar reinforcement and the interior is compacted sand. Any disturbed areas will require sodding with bermuda grass and watering until established. Reinforcement of the loading and unloading pavement area will be #5 rebar at 12-inch spacing according to the project drawings, except for an area addressed in a previous RFI.

SUBJECT: Dock leveler Drawing/Spec Ref:
Information Requested: The following is a list of questions that we need clarification on, so that we can proceed with our bid on this project.
1. In the solicitation for bid under scope of work task list 2.2 (A) Is to provide concrete ramp with manual loading ramp adjustment. In solicitation final design drawings there is no indication of dock leveler, can you verify is there a dock leveler and if so what are the requirements?
2. There is some question as to whether or not dock bumpers would be installed on the new dock. If dock bumpers are required please provide specifications as to what kind?
3. There is a question as to the thickness of the ramp to be removed, also dimensions of any existing foundations that need to be removed and if possible a rebar layout including size and quantity?
4. It appears there will need to be a slope from the ramp to the new chain link fence. Will this area require sod, and if so what are the requirements, such as type of sod and how many days required watering?
5. In the loading and off-loading pavement area it appears to only have four section of pavement near drop inlet area that requires reinforcement steel. If this is accurate please provide rebar size and spacing?
