Solicitations: W50S85-20-Q-0002 (Storage Aid System Hanger 7) W50S85-20-Q-0003 (Storage Aid System Hanger 9) W50S85-20-Q-0023 (Storage Aid System Bldg 139)

Question 1: Good morning, I am working on Building 139 this am. My question is for the Mobile Ailse units. Are there only one 108” wide X 36” deep unit per moving platform? For a total of 8 Ailses? I came up with this estimating if that room is just over 45’ long then the mobile ailses are less than 10’ long or 114” for one rack. (108 +3 +3 = 114” overall length of rack ) If you were to send CAD drwg. I can get dimensions. The other question is that the spec for the Wire Mesh Decking for the racks is at

6000#. Beams cap. Per pair is called out to be 1100#s per beam level. Can I size the WMD to the beams?

You called out the color of the uprights and beams for the rack. What color to you want the Mobil Ailse unit ? if it matters.

Answer 1:

-All moving carriages except one should carry two shelving units back to back. One moving carriage will only have one rack, and the stationary carriage will also only have one rack on it as well. There shall be a total of 4 aisle when completed.

-Yes, wire mesh decking should have a capacity of 1,100 per bay to match that of the beams. The PD has been updated to reflect this.

-Colors for items not specified in the PD shall be decided on at the Post Award Meeting.

Question 2: I am working up a proposal for Hanger 9 at Selfridge ANGB. Regarding the Flow Through

Rack, there is Carton Flow on the bottom 4 levels, but there appears to be pallet storage above it. Do you have any info on the capacity requirements and pallet sizes for the pallet storage?

Answer 2: Pallet Rack specifications have now been added to the PD for Hanger 9.

Question 3: Hanger 7 Storage Aid System - Pallet Rack B: 51” beams are custom. We stock 48” beams. Is it possible to quote 48”? If yes, we can quote stock wire decks also. If we quote 51” custom beams, should I quote custom wire deck or use the 46” wide which will leave approx 5” open space?

Answer 3: 51” beams are required for this project and the wire decking needs to cover the entire beam width.

Question 4: Hanger 7 Storage Aid System- 463L Rack - I will need to know what is being loaded on the top level. It looks like carpet rolls, but I am sure it is something else. What is the capacity per roll? We typically cannot only have one beam level because there isn’t enough stability for the system. Can we add a beam level at the bottom?

Answer 4: Various items stored on 463L Pallets and the potential for ISU70 and ISU90 units weighing up to 10,000 pounds shall be stored on top of the 463L rack. Both ground level and top levels shall utilize dunnage to store these pallet based items. Bracing/beams that do not interfere with the storage of these materials would be acceptable. Both side and back bracing would typically be seen with these type of racking; however, shelf beams on the front that would require materials to be lifted up and over may interfere.

Question 5: Also, regarding the mobile aisle carriages in Hanger 7, looking at the drawing, it looks like there are 4ea mechanical carriages w/ back to back shelving, then 1 mechanical carriage w /a single row of wide span shelving, then one static row. Am I interpreting that correctly?

Answer 5: There is (1) stationary row, (1) moving carriage with a single row, (3) moving carriages with double rows, and another (1) moving carriage with a single row.

Question 6: Hanger 7

2.5.1 Width is listed as 51” but drawing lists width of beams to be 48”, which is correct?

-Both the specifications and drawing list 51” W.

3.5.10 Decking capacity is listed as 6,000 in spec but listed as 1,100 on drawing. Which is correct?

-Pallet Rack deck capacity shall be 6,000 pounds per bay, wide-span shall be 1,100 pounds per bay.

The Hanger 7 PD has been updated to reflect this.

For the mobile aisle, no dimensions are given in the spec or shown on the drawing. We need to know the open aisle spacing at a minimum but overall dimension would be helpful.

-The overall system is 16’ x 22’ with a 4’ aisle.

There is a post award conference required, but no mention of a testing conference. Will we be required to be onsite for testing or is walking through with the installer once complete acceptable?

-No formal testing conference is required for all parties; however, the government reserves the right to conduct testing to ensure it meets the requirements in the PD. A walkthrough with the installer would be an acceptable option in this case.

Question 7: Bldg 139

2.3 The wide span is on a mobile aisle so it can not be anchored to the concrete floor only the carriage, there is no other widespan shown on the drawing. Is this a typo or is there additional widespan to quote?

- The widespan in Building 139 shall only be located on mobile aisle carriages. The PD for Building 139 has been updated to reflect this.

2.5.10 Decking capacity is listed as 6,000 in spec but listed as 1,100 on drawing. Which is correct?

-Wide span deck capacity shall be 1,100 pounds per bay. The wide-span deck section has been updated to reflect this.

4.4 Bin shelving is mentioned in the specs but not on drawing. Is this a typo or is there supposed to be bin shelving?

-No Bin Shelving shall be provided in Building 139. The reference to it has been removed from the

Building 139 PD.

For the mobile aisle, no dimensions are given in the spec or shown on the drawing. We need to know the open aisle spacing at a minimum but overall dimension would be helpful.

-Aisle width shall be 4’ and the overall footprint shall be 12’ x 20’.

There are 3 cabinets shown in orange on the drawing, but no dimensions given and they are not in the specs. Is this a mistake or are there supposed to be 3 cabinets?

-The cabinets in question are detailed in Section 5 of the Building 139 PD.

Question 8: Regarding Solicitation W50S85-20-Q-0003, (Hanger 9) I’d like to see if we can have a couple of exceptions approved. (This set of questions is from the Company Equipto)

1. The spec calls out for the mobile aisle carriage end panel to be as tall as the 12’ shelving. Our tallest Closed Mechanical Drive Panel is 97” high. Will that suffice?

-The provided face panels shall cover the entire width and height of the shelving section sides so this will not suffice.

2. How wide is the aisle to be within the mobile aisle system?

-Aisle widths shall be 4’ for the mobile aisle system.

3. Regarding the Processing Counter, the spec calls out a Modular drawer cabinet w/ 5 drawers, each K section is to be 8’ long w / a 32” wide hardwood top. We can meet the dimensions called out, however we would use our shelving system w/ modular drawers to make a cabinet. The cabinet would have 48” wide drawers on the left side, and a 48” wide add on shelving unit w/ no drawers, a very bottom shelf, and an intermediate shelf. The shelving would be 24” deep, front to back, so the hardwood top would overhang the shelving in the back by 8”. I’ve attached a picture to give you more of an idea of what it would look like. Disregard the aerial shelves and upper cabinets in the pic. The components within this counter would then be interchangeable with the bin shelving within the mobile aisle system.

-This alternative would not be acceptable as the open shelving support described would not meet the requirements for a leg support structure.

Are there to be any divider kits or rubber mat inserts in the drawers for the Processing counter

-No divider kits or rubber mat inserts are required for the drawers used in the processing counters.
