Questions & Answers (Set 3) Selfridge Air National Guard Base, MI
Solicitations: W50S85-20-Q-0002 (Storage Aid System Hanger 7) W50S85-20-Q-0003 (Storage Aid System Hanger 9) W50S85-20-Q-0023 (Storage Aid System Bldg 139)
Question (1): This Q&A answers the request about the 5 drawer cabinet listed on page 7 of 11 of the bldg. 139 RFQ. However the question about the "11" drawer cabinet has not been resolved. Again - the cabinet configuration states 11 drawers but the chart only shows 10.
Please advise –
-Drawer configuration has been updated on the revised PD for Building 139.
Question (2): Question(3) (from previous question set) The mobile system in Bldg.139. PDF drawing is not clear - is there just a single section of rack per carriage? (Carriage length nominal 108") or multiple?
Drawing for Building 139 shows the Mobile Aisle as we have it drawn. See att. However, answer to
Question(3) says otherwise. Since we figured out that units are only 24” wide all will fit fine either way. Please Clarify if you want one 24” x 108” +6” for uprights, 112” O.A..L. (1) per carriage or like drawn on drawing where 3 of the mobile Ailse’s are back to back.
One fixed platform and 7 Mobile Aisle will be more expensive. Please let us know if there should be one fixed and 7 moving racks or like we have it on drawing.
- There shall be a total of 5 carriages: 1 stationary carriage with a single bay of rack, 1 moving carriage with a single bay of rack, and 3 moving carriages with back to back racking bays. All rows shall only be one rack bay deep.
Question (3): The Mobile aisles for Hanger 7 and building 139 are using a mini-rack or as you call it wide span shelving. You are requiring a 6” flu spacer when back to back.
See what Mfg of mobile aisles says below.
Pat
The design of the mobile system with elevated floor is not designed for forklift loading. It is normally hand loaded items that do not require forklift. Normally they do not use a 6” flue space for hand loading. The only issue is there normally a 1” or 2” flue space required if they need to adjust the beams after installation. I am sure they are referring to the static pallet rack in other areas. We can and have provided the flue space in other projects, if they require the space I will have to requote BLDG 139 mobile. The same situation applies to hanger 7. I did allow for a 1” flue space there to be able to adjust the beams. Someone needs to clarify things and make a decision.
Please let me know how to proceed.
Regards, Marvin Staller
-All loading on the mobile aisle systems shall done by hand. 6” flue space is the standard layout for static racking as indicated. If a smaller flue space is standard for the racking located on the mobile aisle that will be acceptable; however, a sufficient distance to allow for future beam adjustment must be maintained.
Question (4): Please see the attached table. The solicitation calls for Type M1 cabinets to have 11 drawers and Type M2 cabinets to have 5 drawers. As you can see in the table below, both cabinets call for
10 drawers. Can you please clarify? The elevation view of the cabinets in the drawing for building 139 also shows 10 cabinets on the correct spacing.
-Drawer configuration has been updated on the revised PD for Building 139.
Question (5): Good morning. In Hanger 9 for the questions Answers #2. Gravity Conveyor says it will be provided. Do you guys already have that item, 32” plus gravity for in-between the Pallet/flow racks? Now there is a long description of that item in the proposal description. Should we quote or not?
-Gravity Conveyor shall be provided as part of this contract per the updated specifications.
