About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding an upcoming project to replace airfield apron lighting at Scott Air Force Base. The project involves replacing nine existing light poles, ranging in height from 75 to 80 feet, with new LED fixtures. Each pole currently has seven 1000W high-pressure sodium light heads. The replacement fixtures should provide a color temperature of 4000K or 5700K and be positioned to meet apron lighting requirements according to UFC standards. An FAA permit may be required if a crane is needed for installation. Accompanying the questions is a related federal contract opportunity posted by the Department of the Army National Guard to solicit bids for the airfield apron lighting replacement project at Scott AFB.
