About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document for Sources Sought Notice SS-26-PHX-015 addressing managed teleradiology services for the Phoenix Indian Medical Center (PIMC) and potentially three additional Phoenix Area Indian Health Service (IHS) units. The document clarifies that these volume estimates and response requirements apply specifically to PIMC, with the understanding that other potential service locations may generate significantly lower volumes throughout the contract period.

The estimated monthly read volumes for PIMC include 366 ultrasound exams, 798 CT scans, and 981 plain radiography exams. Mammography is anticipated at 208-250 monthly exams, with 90 percent planned for teleradiology transmission and 100 percent requiring local interpretation provider services. MRI services are not currently available but may be added within one to two years; nuclear medicine services are not offered at PIMC. Response time requirements are tiered by priority: routine exams must be interpreted within 24 hours with 95 percent compliance; urgent exams require interpretation within 4 hours; stat exams within 60 minutes; critical results within 30 minutes with verbal notification; and CT angiography for pulmonary embolism and brain CT for stroke must have verbal reports to the emergency department within 30 minutes of receipt, regardless of positive or negative findings. Teleradiology coverage is required for nights, weekends, and all federal holidays, as well as dayshifts Monday through Friday covering 50-75 percent of the daily workload. The contractor must provide fully managed, non-personal services teleradiology delivery, with the Government conducting market research to identify capabilities among Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises, Indian Economic Enterprises, other small businesses, and large businesses.
