About this file

This amendment to a solicitation provides additional details for a mobile document destruction services contract. The Defense Logistics Agency is seeking these services for its facility in Fort Belvoir, Virginia, with a base period of performance from September 2022 to August 2023 and four optional one-year extensions. The amendment answers questions from potential offerors by clarifying that service is required twice weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays, the average weekly volume is five bins but has increased with employees returning to the building, one additional bin is located in a separate building, the government provides 64-gallon bins and a key for access, and the contractor must occasionally purge pre-shredded material from the facility using a box truck.

Amendment 00001 – Questions and Answers

The purpose of this amendment is to incorporate questions and answers.

Accordingly, The below are questions and answers:

1. Question: Are you requesting specific days for service? Or can the vendor select 2 days each week?

Answer: The Performance Work Statement (PWS) states service days are Tuesdays and

Thursdays. See the PWS for additional information.

2. Question: Unless I missed it, I did not see the number of bins to be serviced in Room 2462.

Answer: The bins to be serviced will be in room 4104. The number of bins needing serviced will vary. Historical data from pre-COVID FY19 averages 5 bins per visit. The government have seen an increase lately due to employees returning to the building.

3. Question: I understand one bin in Room 2468?

Answer: 2468 is the Child Development Center, a separate building on site. There is one (1) bin at that location.

4. Question: The base will provide the 64 gallon bins? The vendor does not? (assuming then the service personnel will need to be escorted as we won’t have our own keys?)

Answer: The Government provides the bins. Contractor personnel shall be badged for unescorted entry. A key to unlock the bins will be provided.

5. Question: And to clarify – Occasional purges of pre-shredded material to be picked up in a box truck?

Answer: There are areas in the building where documents must be shred before leaving the office. The custodial contractor will pick up the bags of shredded paper and bring them to room 4104 where the bins are located. The Contracting Officer Representative will call the contractor for an on call shred bag pick up. The contractor shall provide a truck and carts to perform the on call pick up.

All other terms and conditions remain the same.
