About this file
This document is a comprehensive technical specification file for the Pass-A-Grille Way and Gulf Way Water Main Improvements Project, involving Pinellas County Utilities and the City of St. Pete Beach, Florida. The project entails water main replacement utilizing Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) and open-cut methods, with installation of new Automated Meter Reading (AMR) water meters. Specifically, the project will involve installing approximately 175 linear feet of 6" pipe, 4,600 linear feet of 4" pipe, and 1,575 linear feet of 2" pipe. Additional scope includes water service installations, fire hydrants, blowoffs, and connections to existing water mains. The work will be performed between 22nd Avenue and 9th Avenue, spanning the areas of Gulf Way and Pass-A-Grille Way.
The technical specifications outline detailed requirements for materials, installation methods, testing, and quality control, with an emphasis on compliance with American Water Works Association (AWWA) standards and Pinellas County Utilities specifications. The project will require precise surveying, pipe installation, disinfection, pressure testing, and comprehensive documentation. Contractors must provide detailed submittals, including work plans, design calculations, safety plans, and as-built drawings. The contract includes provisions for maintenance of traffic, environmental protection, and restoration of disturbed areas. Funding appears to be through Pinellas County, with strict requirements for contractor qualifications, experience, and adherence to technical and safety standards.
