About this file
This is a Scope of Work document for a rental chiller project at the White River Junction VA Medical Center in Vermont.
The project requires a qualified contractor to provide and maintain a 150-ton rental chiller that will supply chilled water to the main chilled water loop serving multiple patient care buildings. The chiller must meet specific technical specifications including 460/3/60 voltage, 54°F entering water temperature design, 44°F leaving water temperature design, 95°F ambient temperature design, and minimum/maximum flow rates of 175 and 635 respectively. The contractor is responsible for delivering the chiller to ground level near Granite Building 31, supplying and connecting chilled water lines to existing building connections, and connecting the unit to available external power after providing electrical connection specifications to VA staff. The period of performance runs from April 27, 2026 through October 27, 2026. All submittals must be reviewed and approved by the VA prior to work commencement. The contractor must perform routine maintenance including temperature and pressure monitoring, condenser coil inspection and cleaning, water strainer cleaning, leak inspections, and manufacturer-specified preventative maintenance tasks. The contractor must dispatch technicians at no cost to the VA Medical Center for any issues requiring diagnosis and repair. The system will utilize existing house loop pumps, requiring the contractor to coordinate with facilities staff to ensure proper flow rates. Record management requirements apply regarding Privacy Act compliance, Freedom of Information Act provisions, and government ownership of all contract-related data and deliverables.
