JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL1OBTAIN PMObtain PM from COTR. The PM may be issued in a handheld device or paper.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL3SCHEDULE THE PMSchedule the PM with the COTR. NO equipment will be shut down without scheduling with the COTR.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL5REVIEWReview all steps in PM.

Review safety requirements for this equipment and space Review manufacturer's instructions and equipment history record, if available.

JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL7EQUIPMENT SHUTDOWN SAFETYShut-down is necessary; de-energize, tag, and lock out electrical circuits to motors, pumps, control circuits, etc and de-energize pressure in lines before working on equipment.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL9CHECK WITH OPERATING OR AREA PERSONNELCheck with operating or area personnel for any deficiencies.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL10POLICE TO BLOCK TRAFFICHave police block traffic during maintenance to prevent accidents. Confirm that the Barrier operates smoothly during the raise and lower cycle.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL20SHUTDOWN SYSTEMShut system off and drop system pressure to zero.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL30LOCK-OUT ALL POWERTag and lock-out all power.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL40DRAIN OIL AND CHANGE FILTERDrain the oil from the reservoir and flush with mineral spirits or clean oil. After wiping down

the tank sides and bottom to assure that no contamination remains, replace with clean filtered oil.

Replace the oil filter.

JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL50REMOVE BARRIER TOP PLATESRemove barrier top plates and check the tightness of each of the sixteen hardened steel cap screws holding the four bearing blocks. Anti-seize compound has been used on these bolts, reapply if you remove the bolts. The proper torque value is 45 foot-lbs [60 N-M].
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL60CHECK FOR INDICATIONSCheck for indications of oil leaks around the cylinders and barrier header fittings. Note any leakage.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL63CHECK FOR INTERNAL LEAKSCheck that the hydraulic cylinders are not leaking internally (see Hydraulic Trouble Shooting section for details). Replace cylinder seals or cylinder as necessary.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL65CHECK CLEVIS PINSCheck cylinder clevis pins for wear, replace as necessary.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL70CHECK FOR SAND AND DEBRISCheck for sand and debris about the bearings and shafts and clean if necessary. Clean any debris build up in the bottom of the foundation frame.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL75CHECK DRAIN LINES AND SUMP WELLSCheck drain lines and sump wells for drainage. Clean debris.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL80LUBE ALL BRONZE BEARINGSInspect and lubricate all bronze style bearings and pins.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL90INSPECT OTHER BEARINGSGraphite/fiberglass bearings should be inspected for any damage and replaced as necessary, lubrication of these style bearings is optional. Note if any bearing needs replacing.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL95CHECK HYDRAULIC LINESCheck hydraulic interconnect lines for kinks, contact wear or bulging. Replace or protect hoses as required.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL100REINSTALL TOP PLATESReinstall top plate; check all top plate bolts for tightness. Note any tendencies for the top plate bolts to loosen.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL103CHECK CONDITION OF PAINTCheck condition of the barrier paint surface. Prepare, prime and touch up areas where

the paint has be chipped or worn away. Apply new reflective tape as necessary.

JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL110TURN POWER ONTurn power on and confirm that the barrier operates smoothly during the raise and lower cycle. Check all control functions for complete operation of all features. Note any discrepancy.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL120CHECK HEATERSCheck the operation of the Barrier heaters. They should get warm in approximately one minute after energization. Note any discrepancy.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL130TURN OFF / BLEED SYSTEMTurn off pump/motor power, bleed system pressure to zero and add clean, filtered oil (name) to the top of the site glass. Note amount of oil added.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL140CLEAN DUST AND DEBRISThoroughly clean the HPU, removing dust and spilled oil. Remove any rust build up on

components. Touch up paint where necessary.

JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL150TURN ALL POWER ONTurn all power on and bring system back to operation.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL155CHECK PRESSURECheck the accumulator pressure while the system is at zero pressure using Delta Charging Kit 2469-31 or equal. If tool is not available, observe the value that the pressure gauge jumps to when power is again turned on. (See Hydraulic Section for details.) Log value and pressure setting on Log sheet provided. If any hydraulic hoses have been replaced, it may take several cycles to clear trapped air and top off with clean filtered oil.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL160TEST MOTOR OVERLOADSTest motor starter overloads by pressing the test button. Replace if necessary or press
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL170OPERATIONAL CHECKHave gate security do an operational check that the barrier functions properly. Confirm that the Barrier operates smoothly during the raise and lower cycle. If everything functions properly, the system can be put into normal operation and the Police can stand down.
JP-BRCD-AJOBPLAN POP-UP BARRICADE ANNUAL999COMPLETE PMComplete the PM on handheld or paper; noting condition, suspect problems, parts used, gauge/meter readings, etc.

NOTIFY COTR IF ANY EQUIPMENT REQUIRES REPLACEMENT AND NOTE ON PM.
